Location

The Caravan is sited on an established  four star French managed Campsite called "Holiday Green Village Club"  located at the foothills of the Var region, just a few miles from the Coast. Some views of the site are opposite though a few changes have subsequently taken place with decking structures. and such like. You'll see these changes elsewhere on this website.

The site strives to be environmentally friendly and has been awarded the Ecolabel Europeen 2009 in recognition of its achievements.

The closest International Airport is Nice (approximately 45 minutes drive to Frejus). Several companies fly to Nice including Easy Jet, British Airways. If you live near Leeds, try jet2 .

You can also get to Frejus via Toulon (Hyeres) Airport using ryanair . The journey will take you a bit longer, about an hour. You aim for Toulon and the A57 joining the A8 road to Frejus or you can drive along the Coast or inland road which takes you past St Tropez.

During the months of June, July and August it would be wiser to go the A8 route as St Tropez and St Maxime can get very congested.  If you are not planning to pick up a  Car at the Airport then I do suggest you consider Nice as the simplest Airport to make for, as the Taxi from Hyeres to Frejus will be more expensive. I had to pay Euros 42 just to get me to Toulon (10 miles) to catch the Train to St Raphael one year.

The English car hire company I recommend to pre-book, is  Holidayautos who will make the arrangements via the local hire companies. You wont have to pay currency fluctuations booked via them. You can use the Airlines recommended Hire company but you may find that you will have to queue for quite a time to get the car sorted out. I have not seen any discount advantage using the Airlines suggested hire company rather than pre-booking. Mind you I don't guarantee how long it will take to collect the Car.

There are regular bus runs from Nice Airport to the Nice Train Station and also Buses to and from Frejus, click here for a link which may help. Bus to Frejus

If you need a Taxi from, and to the Airport this can be arranged with my Agent. As a guide prices from Nice Airport is from 80 Euros to 200 Euros each way, that is for 4 persons or up to ten persons. Pick up at St Raphael Station is 30 Euros each way for 6 persons.

My Agent is also available to take you to an outside Supermarket for a return price of €30. I'm told these charges compare favourably with local Taxi operators, but make your own enquiries to be sure.

For rail connections to St Raphael (Valescure) please click the following link SNCF for      Ferry information - its about a 15 hour drive from UK, try leisuredirection or  ferrysavers.      A reminder if you have not got your travel Insurance here's a link to a provider -  Travel Insurance.

Below are listed directions for the drive from the airport to Holiday Green, you also can download a zipped printable version by clicking here (N.B. for Microsoft Word or Word Pad users only, Mac users please email us for a direction pack, you will require a copy of Winzip to open this package).

Nice Airport

The Car Hire companies are just a short walk from Terminal 2 or a three minutes Bus journey from Terminal 1. They are all next to one another, with National Citer being just around the corner of the road, to the left, as you look across the road to them.

It's a little tricky leaving the Airport, so take your time and look out for the sign A8 WEST, to Cannes Frejus and Marseille.

Once you're on the A8 Motorway it's about 45 minutes to your exit (sortie) at J38 Frejus.

Follow the road around to the toll. You can pay at tolls by Credit Card or Euros  - if the Barrier doesn't rise "don't panic" you've put your Card in the wrong way. At the first roundabout immediate exit to your right then follow the road alongside the motorway. At the second roundabout right again, follow the road over the motorway, then take a left at the third roundabout. Follow the road up to the fourth roundabout then turn right onto the D4 towards Bagnols-en-Foret.

You will see the  Holiday Green Sign on the next Roundabout just past the Army Barracks.

The route from Junction 38 of the A8 is shown as the blue line on the map below.
